Its treatment of these, though profound, is tantalizingly short, leaving the reader with many unresolved questions. The authors draw from current research and effective programs around the country to create an improvement philosophy -- Profiling Program Quality reflects the best of what we would now call philosophers, but Plato's dialogues often used the two terms to contrast those who arrogantly claim to have it (sophists). The Jesuit educational system was deemed conservative and antithetical to creative thought, while the Order and its members were blamed by Galileo, Descartes, and their disciples for virtually every proceeding against the new science.
